Tax Summary
- Oregon has three different tax brackets ranging from 5% to 9% depending upon how much you earn.
- There is a provision for automatic adjustment of the tax brackets to adjust for the rate of inflation.
- Tax credit for a single individual is $147. Tax credit for a married couple is $294. Dependents earn a credit of $147 each.
- There is no sales tax in Oregon.
- Property taxes cover all privately owned real property and personal property used in businesses.
- County assessors are in charge of tax assessment and collection with the exception of large industrial sites, which are overseen by the state Department of Revenue.
- There is no homestead exemption in Oregon, however lower income senior citizens may qualify for a property tax deferral.
