Tax Summary
- Arizona assesses taxes based on five brackets (2.87%, 3.20%, 3.74%, 4.72% and 5.04%.) depending upon how much you earn.
- Up to $2,500 from U.S. government of Arizona State pension income is exempt.
- Personal exemption for a single individual is $2,100. Exemption for a married couple is $4,200. Dependents earn an exemption of $2,100 each.
- Sales tax in Alabama is 5.6%. All local municipalities add their own sales taxes as well, ranging from 1% to 3%. Food for home consumption is the only item exempt from state sales tax.
- Property taxes are determined by individual counties based on millages.
- There is also a personal property tax in the state of Arizona.
