Homestead Exemption
- Up to $54,000 for real estate or a mobile home.
Insurance Exemption
- Insurance annuities or disability payments and all proceeds from a fraternal society's benefits program. Also exempt are any proceeds of a life insurance policy.
Pensions for Law Enforcement Officers, Teachers, and State Employees are Exempt.
Personal Property
- Any tools of trade (uniforms, tools for occupation, etc.)
- Building materials
- $3,000 in personal property per adult individual filing, including books, heirlooms, family pictures, clothing and other personal items
- Jewelry to $1,000
- Pets to $1,000
- Burial plots
- One automobile for personal use, not to exceed a value of $3,000
